CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TRUSTEE

The Chamber of Commerce Trustee election will be November 3-18, 2021. If you are interested in being on the ballot for Strongsville Chamber of Commerce Trustee, please give me a call or send me an email by October 15, 2021. 

Duties and Expectations of Strongsville Chamber of Commerce Trustee

Section 7. Duties of a Trustee (from the Strongsville Chamber of Commerce Bylaws)

“A Trustee must be civic minded and willing to devote time to Chamber activities. Be willing to accept responsibility, take an active interest in Chamber of Commerce committees by accepting a chairmanship and/or actively serve on a committee. Should attend all meetings during the year, and show consideration for fellow trustees by being on time for each meeting.” 

Trustee term is three years 

Homecoming –Trustees are responsible for being a Tent Manager of a game or food trailer for the 4 days of Homecoming. Trustee is responsible for finding responsible people to work in their absence. Promote sponsorship (2  new event sponsors each year) Help with set-up, Saturday before Homecoming and tear-down, Sunday following the Homecoming Festival. Attend the Kick- off Dinner and Thank you Dinner. 

Holiday Scholarship Dance – Each trustee is expected to sell 2 tables for the Dance, attend the Dance, work at the dance, promote sponsorship for the dance and attend the Scholarship Luncheon in May.  Golf Outing – Attend outing and promote sponsorship. 

Trustee Meetings – Attend the 10 Trustee Meetings 

Attend the luncheons/breakfast meetings – September – May. Usually the 3rd Tuesday of the month.

Trustees should also:

  • Be on time to all meetings and Chamber events.
  • Respond to all forms of communication promptly, especially when asked for an RSVP.
  • Attend Chamber sponsored events: Monthly Luncheons/Breakfast meetings, Business After Hours, Scholarship Dance, Golf Outing, and Business Expo.
  • Promote Chamber membership and sponsorship of Chamber events.
